FROM MAY 29 TO MAY 31, 2024, THE 12TH KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH EXHIBITION - KIOSH 2024 WAS HELD AT THE EXPO INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTER IN ASTANA.

THE EXHIBITION MADE IT POSSIBLE TO CREATE A UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, EXPERIENCE AND THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS BETWEEN HSE SPECIALISTS AND EXPERTS. TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CRITICAL FLOOD SITUATION, AS A SIGN OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE COUNTRY, THE ORGANIZERS ABANDONED THE GRAND OPENING THIS YEAR.

The Kazakhstan International Conference and Exhibition and KIOSH 2024 Conference brought together 2,302 visitors at the site. A lively atmosphere reigned at the stands of the KIOSH Exhibition all three days - this year more than 76 companies from Belgium, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia became its participants. Innovative HSE solutions, including textiles, personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment for industrial high rise works, health and safety products, fire safety products, medical examination systems, training companies and much more were presented at the 2024 exposition. 48 companies took part in KIOSH 2024 for the first time, showing significant and impressive progress in the development of occupational safety and health in Kazakhstan.

As part of the business program of the exhibition, practical and educational seminars were held from expert practitioners: Inter Knowledge Solutions Institute, Horizon Inc, Safe Driving Association, Nurikon Professional Training Center, Pozharnaya Bezopasnost 2.0 LLC, FeskGroup, Zelinsky Group and a series of seminars from the Republican Research Institute for Labor Protection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Also during the exhibition, Energocontract and Global Safety companies held a number of master classes on working at height and demonstrating new lines of equipment and personal protective equipment at the demonstration area.

At the end of the first day of the exhibition, at the Arsenal cinema, a representation of short films on the topic of occupational safety and health was organized for all participants and visitors of the event with the participation of Russian cinema stars - Yelena Zakharova and Sergey Selin.

On May 30 and 31, the two-day KIOSH Conference began its work. On the first day of the Conference, the Strategic Plenary Session “Occupational Safety and Health: Change Management and Innovative Leadership” was held with the participation of S. Zhakupova, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K. Aggus, the President of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), M. Ivankov, the Head of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Russian Federation, A. Stevens, the Head of the Strategic Cooperation Department of IOSH (UK).

The content of the first day also included a Discussion Platform “Assessment and Management of Professional Risks at the Present Stage”, a Round Table “Education, Science, Business: Synergy of Interaction” and a foresight session with the participation of representatives of central government bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On the second day of the Conference, May 31, experts discussed the problems of industrial safety. Issues of state regulation in the field of industrial safety and further trends in the development of the industry were considered at the Strategic Session “Ensuring Industrial and Fire Safety in the Republic of Kazakhstan”. During the Panel Session “Digital Transformation in the field of Industrial Safety: Current Challenges and Effective Tools”, experts talked about digital industrial safety as a new ESG trend. Particular attention from the participants was received by the Round Table with the participation of Republican Research Institute for Labor Protection, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and industrial enterprises “Methodology for Assessing Risks at Enterprises of Kazakhstan” and the Training Session “Industrial Safety at Hazardous Production Facilities”, within the framework of which representatives of enterprises were able to ask all questions in this area.

Rio Tinto, United Metallurgical Company, KAZ Minerals, Severstal shared practical cases on work in hazardous industries. The delegates were presented with the results of a global study in the field of emergency management and prevention of technological accidents, carried out among 100 top managers of 65 leading industrial companies in Western Europe, Russia, North America, the Middle East, Africa and Australia (nuclear and thermal energy, hydropower, oil and gas, chemical industry, mining and metallurgical industry).

The Conference provided a unique site for concluding long-term cooperation agreements between the public sector and large domestic and international companies. At the KIOSH 2024 Conference, a corresponding Memorandum of cooperation in the implementation of new approaches and mechanisms of the Concept of Safe Work in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2030 was signed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Eurasian Group (ERG) and Kazzinc. The document was endorsed by Svetlana Zhakupova, the Head of the Department, Serik Shakhazhanov, the General Director of ERG in Kazakhstan and Zhanat Zhanbotin, the General Director of Kazzinc LLP.

Also, the Eurasian Group (ERG) signed offtake contracts with domestic companies worth over 2 billion KZT. The concluded agreements will be the first stage in the development of the production of overalls for protection from aggressive environments by domestic manufacturers.

The KIOSH Conference and Exhibition not only serves as a site for presentations of innovations in the field of HSE, but is also an integral part of the development of industries in the country and abroad.

Another innovation this year was the launch of the ITECA.EVENTS mobile application, the main task of which is to create ideal business communications between visitors and participants with the ability to schedule meetings and collect leads.
