NUR-SULTAN HOSTED THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE 9TH KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION ON LABOR PROTECTION AND INDUSTRIAL SAFETY KIOSH 2019 ON MAY 23.
The official opening ceremony of KIOSH 2019 was headed by Berdybek Saparbayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Nursultan Shokanov, Director-General of Allies Industrial LLP, Nadezhda Shabayeva, President of the Global-Specodejda group, and Boris Danilenko, Sales Director of Iteca LLP.
Opening the KIOSH 2019 exhibition, B. Saparbayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that the exhibition strengthens business and professional ties between representatives of government agencies, manufacturers and suppliers of personal and collective protection.«It is proved that the provision of workers with personal protective equipment directly affects the level of industrial injuries».
«Over the past five years, the number of injured people at work has decreased by 22%, the number of fatalities reduced by 35%. Despite the decrease in the level of injuries, every year more than one thousand five hundred (1.5 thousand) workers are injured at work and, unfortunately, more than two hundred (220) people die».
After getting familiar with the exposition of the exhibition, the KIOSH 2019 conference on labor protection and industrial safety started its work. Traditionally, the KIOSH conference began with a minute of silence in memory of production workers who died at workplace.
In his speech, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, B. Saparbayev informed that measures to reduce industrial injuries are reflected in the draft of Law on Labor and the Road Map to reduce industrial injuries and workplaces with harmful working conditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2019-2023 years. «Satisfying the unmet need could reduce the accident frequency rate to 0.22 per 1000 people, lowering the proportion of workers employed in hazardous working conditions to 20%.».
At the KIOSH conference, participants reviewed current issues of industry development: the introduction of digital technologies for occupational safety and health, new personal protective equipment systems, labor protection management systems, as well as state and internal control.
Special attention at the conference was devoted to the introduction and use of information and digital technologies in the field of occupational and industrial safety of Kazakhstan.
The International Association for Labor Inspection (IALI), ERG, Vist Group JSC, EY, EVERYCO Central Asia, Activ-Bezopasnost LLP, and others shared their experience at the digitalization session.
Within two days of the KIOSH Conference, labor protection and industrial safety specialists will have the opportunity to participate in plenary sessions, round tables and thematic sessions from industry ministries and departments, associations, industrial enterprises and leading companies on PPE.
Every year, KIOSH is held with the state support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The official support is the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Committee for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atameken, KAZENERGY, Kazakhstan Association of Oil, Gas and Energy Complex Organizations, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, SIZ Association of the Russian Federation, the National Association of Occupational Safety Centers of the Russian Federation (NAOSC), the Institute of Industrial Safety and Labor Protection IOSH (UK), KAZWELD Kazakhstan Welding Assembly.
