KIOSH 2022: TO THE NEW KAZAKHSTAN WITH ZERO INJURY RATE!

From May 25 to May 27, Nur-Sultan will host the 10th Kazakhstan International Occupational Health and Safety Conference and Exhibition - KIOSH 2022, which will be held in a new location for the first time. The exposition will be located in the EXPO IEC - a modern specialized exhibition platform in Kazakhstan.

For many years, the only effective platform for uniting the interests of state bodies, industry associations, unions and business entities has been the KIOSH project. The main goal of which, as before, is to popularize the culture of occupational safety and the preservation of the health of working people in the workplace. To date, over 30 companies from Kazakhstan and Russia have announced their participation in the exhibition. The exposition of the exhibition will present manufacturers and suppliers of personal and collective protective equipment (hereinafter referred to as the PPE), textiles, equipment, products for rehabilitation and prevention, large industrial enterprises, training companies and centers for the exchange of experience and knowledge. For the first time at the KIOSH Anniversary Exhibition, Akbarys Protection, ISH LLP, TASCOM SUPPLY & SERVICES, ETALON Znak, INFORM CENTER, POZHKHIMZASCHITA NPK will perform with a stand.

In addition to showcasing novelties in the field of PPE, equipment and innovative solutions for occupational health and safety, the KIOSH Conference, which will be held in parallel to the exhibition, from May 26 to 27, deserves great attention. The main leitmotif of which is the theme: Culture of safety and occupational safety within the framework of the agenda of the New Kazakhstan. The program of the Anniversary Conference will be marked by a new format with an emphasis on dialogue and discussion networking. During panel sessions and discussions, participants will discuss topical questions in the development of the industry - occupational safety trends for 2023, the introduction of digital transformation and digital solutions for occupational health and safety in production, smart PPE, modern trends in remote medicine and science in the field of occupational health and safety. As part of the case study, the industry’s best practices for applying digital transformation will be presented, and an industrial tour will finish the conference.

The plenary session, which will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Labor Organization, the World Health Organization and others, will be devoted to occupational safety issues, corporate culture trends, discussion of key risks of occupational health and safety and the application of ESG business strategies.

On May 27, sessions on certified training of industry specialists will be held. In the new realities, Kazakhstan faces a large-scale task of providing the new economy with personnel capable of increasing productivity, technological renewal and digitalization of enterprises and industries. The Autonomous Cluster Fund “Park of Innovative Technologies” and Samruk-Kazyna Corporate University will hold a mastermind: “Development and training of personnel as the basis of corporate culture”.

In his Address to the Nation, K.-Zh. Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, pointed out: “In the modern world, one of the main factors of competitiveness is deep digitalization. The transfer of modern digital technologies, the widespread introduction of Industry 4.0 is extremely important for Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan should become the central digital hub in a significant part of the Eurasian region”. In the content of the KIOSH Conference program, these words will be reflected in the Panel session on the application of digital transformation in order to reduce risks and prevent threats in matters of occupational safety, and hence the preservation of the life and health of our compatriots.

According to the previously approved Action Plan for insurance of safe labor until 2025, it is planned to modernize the national occupational safety management system based on a risk-oriented approach, develop proposals for economic incentives for employers to reduce occupational risk in the workplace, develop professional competencies and scientific potential in the field of occupational safety, development of social partnership. As a result of the implementation of the Plan, it is expected to reduce occupational injury rate by 10%, the number of employees in hazardous working conditions by up to 20%. Panel discussions on the introduction of smart and personalized PPE, the development of professional competencies and scientific potential in accordance with the Concept of Safe Work 2030 of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the prevention of occupational diseases and learning lessons from incidents in order to avoid their repetition will be devoted to this area.
